I know it is way early to be posting this, but hotel rooms are running out. Here's the info.

Who: Las Vegas and Reno Regions of SCCA
What: North vs. South Challenge Solo II Autocross
Where: Hawthorne, NV
When: May 28th and 29th, Racing both days
Why: To beat Reno

Pre-Registration for this event has already been open for a while. I have never been before, but I heard that the course they set up is awesome. Usually you don't get out of second gear at an autocross, but there people are redlining 3rd gear! It should be really fun. There is a block of 50 rooms reserved at the El Capitan Hotel & Casino for SCCA. The rate for us is $38/night + Tax. I just reserved my room for Friday and Saturday night. If anybody wants to go they share a room with me and then we only have to pay $38 + Tax for the whole weekend! It's a non-smoking room (Sorry Rob and John). Also I will be towing my Z with my Dad's F-150, so I will be able to haul stuff up there that you can't fit in the Z if anybody needs it.

 

So far there are 30 people pre-registered from Vegas and Reno.

How come the Vegas people have a 6+ hour drive to the autox but Reno-ites only have a 2-1/2 hour drive? If it were closer, i might have considered going. A 12 hour round trip? Wow.

 

Hawtorne lets us use their airport to set up a course, so thats why we go there, and thats why its a fast course. I don't think there is much between here and Hawthorne anyways.

Good idea! The Hawthorne course is a lot faster I guess. I have heard stories of redlining in 3rd gear...
