View Full Version : Wanted FL Tire recommendation Tom907 08-16-2006, 08:13 AM Just purchased an 85 I'm going to keep in FL. and do not live in a Southern Climate. Needs new rubber. Any recommendation ? silvrhand 08-16-2006, 11:33 AM Potenza RE750, love mine.. They don't last though but about 15-18k miles on my 95TT.. So if it's a daily driver you would want something else. The wet/dry traction is great, and they aren't noisy at all. Tom907 08-18-2006, 11:42 AM Not a daily driver, only approx 4,000 per year. Thanks Tom Tom907 08-18-2006, 11:44 AM Sorry forgot second part. How do they do in heavy rain ? Again not having FL experience that is a concern. Tom inqui-Z-tor 09-07-2006, 05:48 PM Kuhmo's are good (wet/dry) .. but I'm in CA .. and it never rains in CA .. go to tire rack's website .. they have a pretty good tire comparison page .. z-hag 09-14-2006, 02:49 PM YOKOHAMA-- sticky, durable, good handling--reasonable pricing--even found at costco--go with high perf, of course!! i have kumho's on my AE, yokohamas on my na, and kumho's on my 86 ttop turbo--i like the yoko's best. oh-yeah--it never rains in sunny california, but, when it does, ya need a BOAT with a wet environment, find a sticky (low durability, better road hugging capacity) tire such as pirelli potenza, yokohama--something with lower mileage warranty--the harder compound will only help you do slippery 4 wheel slides, as opposed to drifts--your choice--longevity or road hugging???in wet, an all weather high performance tire would be good--i use them for freewaycommuting in LA--rains there, for some reason. for hiway 1 the coast road and performance, i like a low profile sticky tire. have fun. you want to do your own tire testing for your oen comfort--it is individual. skittle 09-14-2006, 03:25 PM I Have No Idea What Kind Of Tyres But My Brothers Fiance' Is From Ithaca. z-hag 09-14-2006, 08:26 PM C O L D up there--self warming tires, i hope? not politically incorrect to wear FUR--good place. |
