O.K. This subject has been beaten to death, but I'm asking again for posterity. I'm still on a wheel buying kick :)

On my EP 260, I can run a 15x7 rim. I can fit a 23x9.5x15 Hoosier on a rim of that size. The question then is, will these tires fit in the stock wheel wells? (I have coil-overs so the spring perch size is slightly reduced). 225/50/R15s fit in there fine and 225 mm seems to calulate out to 8.86 inches, but I never met a 225 tire that was 225mm wide - does the same reduction apply to race slicks as well? If the 9.5's will barely fit, is there an offset that will make them fit better?

On the other hand, anything has to beat the Z31 wheels with dead Kuhmos.

Lukas, that 225mm is section width, not tread width. Section width is measured from outer rim, over the top of the tire to the inner rim. The series is the percent of the tire that is sidewall. So a 225/70 tire has 70% of it's section as sidewall. A 255/50 has 50% as sidewall, etc etc..

In race tires that measurement is actual size. So a 23 x 9.50 will be 23" diameter and 9 1/2" tread width.

But to answer your question on if they will fit in a stock fender? I don't know, but I assume not.

Yes, the 9.5 " cantilevers will fit your fender wells. You will have no problems
with the inside of fender , but will have to roll the outer fneder lips. I am running 225/45/15 Hooiser RS03's and they have a tread width of 9.5" 's on 8" wide wheels.
The cross section is a little wider then that
then that. They have a diameter of 22.5".
I have a few pics of guys running lowered cars with the 9.5 cants I will try to post later today.

BTW.. I am using a 0 offset wheel.

You can go to www.darcyandcary.com/crazy and look at the pictures of the green 240z. It ran 20x9.5x13 tires on 13x7 wheels. The offset was such that they had about 3/8 clearance to the strut. Seeing how you'd be running 15s you might be able to keep it under the fenders but I wouldn't count on it.
