Hey guys I am new to the forum. I just got a 260z cause my other street car is being turned into a track car so i can go kcik mustangs ass in the camaro mustang challenge. Anyways I was wondering is it worth moding the straight 6? I have a 350 out of a truck as you know 4 bolt main nodular crank itd be a good strong motor to build up i know i'd proyl need a new drive shaft and obviously a trany can the rear end handle 500 hp or so? I also got a 327 block which would eb fun and 2 305s (yuck) . But why waste one of my chevy blocks and money if i can get sufficiant power out of the 6 its got in it. I like big power from small motors. What would some of you more expereinced guys recomend i do with my car?

It all depends on how deap your pockets are and your mechanical knowledge.
You can't beat a well prepped V8 in a Z body . You will have to do the easy rear end swap to the R200 as used in the later Z's . Check out HybridZ (http://www.hybridz.org) They are full of every kind of swap
you can think of.

The L6 is capable of over 400 HP , but you have to go turbo to get it a normally aspirated one is limited to 200's in street trim and a bit over 300HP with an all out race motor.

I am a fan of big power outa small motors is there any turbo kits that are sold? Do you have a good site for cams heads and what not for my engine?

Most people just buy a 280ZXT that came with a turbo and use that set up as a
start for their project. Search this site and HybridZ for install and mod information.

I am gunna do what ever I need to do to the 6 to get it to around 200hp so its a streetable engine that gets some what good gas mileage and when i get a diiff car or truck I will build a stroker for it.
