looking for rebuilt f54 block
If anyone happens to have a spare, and I know this is a long shot, I need an f54 shortblock for my z. I just got done hunting parts for my z and got a good p90a head for it, had it rebuilt (i may have pics of it, worth seeing). After all this cylinders number 2 and 3 are reading 120 psi rest are 180 and should be higher. At any rate if anyone has anything post here or e-mail me at mechwarrior5@hotmail.com

not to second guess you, but have you verified that the block is in fact in need of replacement? Just cause compression is low after having your head rebuilt doesnt mean the block is bad. Have you had it inspected? (or inspected it yourself)

I would suspect your rings are the culpret, not the block.
These are the same blocks used in the L series DIESEL Maxima's.
I've seen cars with over 250,000 miles that still have the hone marks in the cylinder walls.
It's your rings, not the block. You should be able to re-ring your pistons for cheap.

Just an fyi,
Got a new set of rings for my new to me motor for 70.00 bucks from my local Kragen, or Checker, or Schucks depending on what part of the country you live in.
But if your really hard up for a block, i think the xtra one i have is an N42. Its out of a 79. Got a little light scoring, but its intact.

thanks
Well I found a guy in my area whom i think is actually qualified to work on these motors. I also procured a turbo motor here recently so after I have the block checked I plan on taking the forged bottom end from the turbo motor and putting the 280zx flattop pistons on it, and re-ringing it. I hope it all works out I can't find a reason that it wouldn't, and this guy is good. Just can't find my price range forged pistons thanks for the advice.
