240Z Bumpers
Hey guys,
Never posted here before. I have a 91 TT that is my baby but I just acquired one of my dream cars, a 71 240Z. It looks great but it still needs a lot of work.
One of the ideas I am thinking about is having all the rubber strips off the bumper, taking the vertical crome and rubber off, and shaving them to make them completely smooth. Has anyone on here done that before and have pics? Just batting around ideas.
Thankz!!
Shawn

Hey there my car looks just lke the RED 240 on the page. however i was woundering what the name or brand of the rims on it are. nd if so how much and were could i get them ?? Also i'm inerested in purchasing a front air dam however i would ik emine with the holes on the corners of the lip so air goes into the wheel area nd cools the brakes. THANKS

Kind of hard to tell from the photo (too much of a quartering angle for a good view of the wheels), but it looks like they might be Panasport wheels on the red 240? MSA, Vic Brit, and a variety of others carry them. Price seems to be all over the place.
I ended up getting a fiberglass airdam from MSA for my 280 exactly as you described, with the holes for brake cooling. My brother uses an identical one on his '78 and went as far as making ducts to hook up to them to actually have duct-cooled brakes. I haven't gotten that far with mine yet...

Well, they're not cheap ($1100 for four), but here's one link to the Panasport wheels:

and, here's a selection of the airdams:

Do shop around, though. I don't know about the airdams, but there've been a lot of posts on here that those wheels can be had cheaper elsewhere. MSA was just the one I knew of that had a picture I could link to.
I did get my airdam from them, though, and it's a great piece. Fits well, fair price, quality fiberglass work, and looks better than the urethane one my car had on it when I bought it. Or better yet, you could buy my old one! Just kidding. It needs work. One of these days I'll clean it up and put it on The Marketplace, but I'd rather work on getting my car finished first. If I could get out of work today...
