Center moulding
I will be a new owner, in about 20 days of a 73 240z that is in really good, what seems to be original condition shape but had a few questions since im a newbe to these types of cars.
I have been looking at alot of 240z pictures and noticed that the majority of these models do not have the trim that goes along the middle of the front fender/door/rear quarter to protect from door dings. This car does. Was this a factory item on these cars? Do most people remove these to have a cleaner look? Just wondering if it is factory and the previous owner didnt put them on but I doubt that he did. Here is a picture of the car.
What is the deal with dual contact points in an automatic transmission 240z?
I know the 2nd question is more for a different catagory but I was hoping somebody might know off hand.
Thanks for any info....really excited about working on the car and joining in.

Contrary to popular belief, the door trim is a dealer ad on. My shop teacher used to work for a shop that was contracted by a local datsun dealer back in the day to add them and a whole bunch of other random things back in the early to mid 70's.
