Dash reinstall, not going as planned

Alrighty, having some issues.. i am trying to get my dash back into the car after installing the dash cap i got(i no now that i did not even need to take it out. But it does not seem to fit, the tach and speedo are not going far enough and the dash it self will not mount to where it is supposed to...so i need HELP! anyone that has pics of there dash reinstall or any advice, i have used search and not been able to find much. I have 1976 280z. Thanks

Are you still having trouble with the install? I am up at Cold lake right now and might be able to swing down before heading back to Vegas to help you out. Other than that check your speedo cable since that can jam up the speedo and tach from going all the way in.

some times the spedo cable gets stuck you will have to move it to the far back of the dash by hand. i found it alot eazier to have two people help put back in the dash.. on the 1980 81 82 83 i found it sooo much easier to loosen the bolts that hold the steering wheel so the dash would slide in alot easier.
