Ok guys I need help here. I have a bit of a dilemma. I have always wondered what it would take to get power windows, power door locks and power mirrors into one of my earlier Z cars, or at least for the past 15+ years, preferably in my ’75 280. Well, now that I am parting out this ’82 ZX Turbo which has all those goodies, (I pulled out all the power goodies including the harnesses yesterday), I am tempted to keep them and try this retrofit but I am parting this car out so selling them is also an option. Hmmm….
It looks as though the window regulator assembly itself is VERY similar to the earlier Z car stuff, (I took some pics as well),Nissan just installed an electric motor in place of the hand crank… hmmm… installing both power mirrors is a no brainer and I think the power locks will be almost as easy as the mirrors.
Have any of you heard of or done this retrofit or am I just wasting my time and should I just sell those goodies?
