Drivers side hinge detent roller - 77 280z - loud pop when door opened
This has been an issue for years. The drivers side door makes a loud pop when opened. The detent roller has a indention carved into it on one side from wear.
I can rotate the roller so the indention is on the backside. This works for one time, then the indented side moves back to the front, and the door starts making the loud pop again when opened.
This article has some great information:
Rebuilding Door Hinges on 1st Generation Z Car

but the author found "some lower hinges that had the return springs and roller stops in place". He rebuilt the hinges using new bushings and pins and seemed to use existing detent roller.
Has anyone fixed their worn detent roller?
Thanks,
Jim.
ANSWER:
These are the parts needed to rebuild the hinge: (worked on 240z)
Dealer Parts:
Nissan Pin ----- Part# 80406-V5002
Nissan Pin Bushing ----- Part# 80410-01G00
Roller not available from Nissan.
Or Non-Dealer Source:
At Advanced Auto: the bushing and pin kit is Dorman part # 38397.
At McMaster-Carr: Press-Fit Drill Bushings (the roller) ----- Part# 8491A202 from mcmaster.com
These Pins will not work as the Roller Pin. Try to reuse the one on the car:

You can weld it in place or remove the hinge and replace it or try to get someone to make a new roller. The bolts are behind the ecu/kick panel. You should be able to get it out without removing the door.

Thanks TheRamz, some great options. Nice to hear that it can be removed without removing the door. Been looking around, but haven't found a replacement. If I can't find a replacement, or get a roller made, will have my uncle weld it.
Another idea someone gave me was to slip a bronze flange over the roller. The lip on the flange will help keep it from slipping off. I'll try this first and post the results.
