My gas tank appears to have a lot of sediment and what looks like rusty metal flakes?

Instead of trying to remove it and clean it, does anyone know of a source for a new replacement gas tank?

the rad shops can be very valuble in rinsing out the tank and re-coating it if ya want, ive tried the liner paints, and the tank has to be very very very clean

 

yeah in cali they pretty much out lawed the gas tank 3washings cause of the fumes and hazardious things, and such. But there is one in lake elsinore or on the way there, i can't remember the name though. Its on high way 74, north and east on the highway. It does all that though.

 

There are a couple of nationwide ship-it-in operations that show up on Google. If you just want a straight up exchange, zcarsource.com stocks reconditioned tanks. Send your old one in, get a reconditioned one back. I've not seen anyone stocking all the different ones new in one place (I suppose if you look long enough on eBay or wherever, you might find a new one of the exact model you need). Anyway, just another option.
