280z 1975 fuel and spark but won't start!?

Hello I'm new to z driver and new to datsuns as well. I recently purchased a 75 280z as a project while I go to school for collision repair and refinishing, among cancer and other cosmetic issues I have run into some mechanical problems, I have searched this site and google and have failed to find someone with the same problem as mine( everyone else is missing either spark or fuel) . I have spark and fuel but the car will not start, it cranks and occasionally kicks over for a couple seconds before dying, I have a brand new battery, starter, and fuel pump. I'm confident I have the conditions right for the car to run but amazingly frustrated that it won't, I've been going through electrical connections and cleaning but nothing has helped is there a certain sensor I should begin with swapping or cleaning or???? I'm out of ideas and I'm thankful for any suggestions/ guidance! Thank you

Welcome to ZDriver!

If you have verified that there is spark and fuel (35psi) at all 6 cylinders, then the timing is too far off, or there are other mechanical problems.

What are the cylinder compression results?
Have you verified that the distributor rotor is positioned correctly at TDC cyl #1?

Download a copy of the Fuel Injection Bible http://www.xenons130.com/files/280zf...ectionbook.pdf.
Go through the diagnostics.
I also second checking fuel pressure and rotor position.

Thanks for the replies folks, I haven't checked compression and somehow timing escaped me, but I will post back with results when I get time to tinker, once again much appreciated!!
