280z fusible link question...
Generally, could we use a bigger wire gauge as fusible link to replace a tired one? I have used one but the other 3 are originals. Just want to have all four with uniform size wire. Appreciate any comments.

Don't waste your time, just replace them with reliable fuses:
http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techti...nks/index.html
Pink 30 amp
Green 40 amps 0.50mm˛
Red 50 amps 0.69mm˛
Yellow 60 amps
Black 80 amps 1.25mm˛
Blue 100 amps
Note: Fusible links are designed to melt and not catch fire. Regular wires can catch fire. Do not substitute!

I have replaced the ECU and the car is running now, or I should say, it starts and will run. However, I had to attach a wire to the fuel pump, with a switch....it's not engaging otherwise, and it is running rough and smoking.
Nismo, It was your answer to previous threads that has led me to good solutions, so far.... I think I remember another member who ran into this and I will check his thread. But if you have any next steps for me, I would appreciate it. I'm not a mechanic, just a girl who digs her car and likes to solve problems and do the work herself, if it is not labor or technically intensive. The ECU was easy....just plugged it in and saved $1000 in mechanic fees So grateful for this site! Would have needed a mechanic to figue it out otherwise. Thanks Ya!

That's just a fancy kit that keeps things organized and looking good. You could just replace your fusible links with normal fuses of proper rating, by cutting the wires below the box, crimping on female spade connectors, electrical tape, and zip tie them together to keep them tidy.
Check the green fuel pump relay if the fuel pump won't prime / run on it's own.

One word of warning concerning the maxi fuse conversion. I've talked with the person who posted it. I'm not sure the fuse ratings are the same as the fusible link ratings.
On the other hand, proper fusible links are still available from Courtesy Nissan and NissanParts.cc.
