280zx turbo in a 260z?

Would it be a drop in? Would I need to use the whole 280zx engine?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

Yep... this question has been brought up and covered many times. Lots of people have done an L28ET swap into an S30. A quick search will give you a lot of info.

OH NO HE DIDNT! lol im a former 260Z turbo car owner. this is by far.... making me really mad reading that question lol. oh man.... idk why but its making me angry.... ERIC SMASH!!!!!!

haha...

please dude. search before asking something THAT simple and well asked. ANY motorswap that has been thought of has probably been done in an S30 ill give you that hint now. and seeing as a datsun L motor is a datsun L motor is a datsun L motor. i think you can figure out how easily the engine swaps in. as well as tranny. as well as drive shaft. its the wiring that makes things hard and custom exhaust. also. what do you mean would you have to use the whole motor? no i think it will run fine with the head off it..........

By the whole turbo engine, I meant the whole engine out of a 280zx with the turbo attached, not half of the turbo itself.

Don't worry, I know what it is like to get these types of threads every day that you constantly have to answer the same question. That was my bad, I should have done a search.

Thanks.

Is there a list somewhere of the parts that are needed? Not the major components, I get that but mostly the small stuff like mounting and electrical stuff.

OMG OMG OMG.... this still makes NO SENSE lol. just... if you find a turbo setup for cheap take the motor and EVERYTHING THATS ATTATCHED TO IT!!!!!! if its manual take the tranny and drive shaft and tranny mount as well. you should also take the wiring harness thats attatched to the ECU and the injectors t should come out as one whole piece no cutting needed and the ECU. case closed!

i stuck an 82 non turbo motor into my 260Z with ALL the turbo components other than the block and head from the turbo car. i might have had a few more HP from the slightly higher compression ratio in the motor but all in all, i woulda rather had the stronger turbo block with better compression for turbo setup. especially since it cost only 25 bucks less than having a full turbo motor and setup shipped to my damn house.... also theres less displacement in teh 260 motor. just get the full thing the real deal. its better in the long run. MUCH less headache dude. trust me.
