emission control
'72 240Z su carbs: question for some knowledgeable soul=
What amI adjusting when I turn the Emission Control Adjusting Screw? ummmm, okay I'm adjusting the 'emissions'---right? How does this work--and what effect on 'performance'?
This might not be related, but it backfires lightly, usually when shifting from 1st to 2nd.
LW
ps: I know it says "don't touch", but I already have-----Thanks

I think it has
something to do with air. You are increasing or decreasing the amount of air back through the EGR valve or type of valve. Less air and you run rich, get backfires, too much air and you start to run lean and cook your rings/pistons. Just right and something about a baby bear will sleep in your bed...i dunno, i wasn't paying attention that day in school.
