My friend just bought a 2001-2002 eclipse.......he got an automatic.....but, the gears say P,R,D,+,--.......the + is to shift up like a slap shift.....the -- is to downshift like a slap shift......I like it because u can put it in drive and drive normal....or u can use the slap shifter like a manual!!!! its awesome!! I was woundering can u fit a trannylike that in a 280ZXT or can sum1 make a custom tranny like that!

 

it would be electronic, so it would be very hard to fit to something like a 280zx

3G Eclipse is FWD...wouldn't be able to convert it to RWD...however...

You might be able to use a Montero Limited tranny, which is a 5 speed auto w/Sporttronic shifting...don't think you could fit it, though...

yeah they do, buy they are also FWD, also to chamge up a gear you push it forward, but doesn't common sense say that as you are accelerating you would pull it back to go up a gear, as you are moving with the inertia?

Yeah, but that would confuse people.

Forward always means go, and backwards always means stop.

Besides, they don't produce enough G's to affect shifting...
