need help planning build
I was looking for some help planning an engine build. i dont know a whole lot in this area so any comments, ideas, or advice is welcome and appreciated. My goal is a 250 hp engine. I can live with 225 and wouldnt mind 300. it just seems 250 is doable, not super expensive but fun motor for a weekend car. Money- I have money saved, and can get more, but its not big, and I dont mind using it. Parts- I have, a couple L28 blocks, a couple n47 heads, e88, n42. A few su and intake manifold set ups off 240s, oh, I have a turbo motor, its complete 90 percent: no wiring or ecu. I need to get a plan going. Im figuring on 4000 bucks, any thoughts?

I think you can get more bang for the buck with the turbo engine. Stock it's rated at 182hp at the crank. You can get to 350hp no problem. Doas much research as you can before you spend money. Here's a start-

Signed up for the purpose of hearing the answers. We have a 240z that we are racing. ATM it's still mostly stock. The VARA class we want to run in requires us to use the L24 block, crank and head. 250 HP N/A is doable, but out of our current budget.

OK. Thats interesting because it ends in the same ballpark. What could a guy get for 3500- 4 on a NA engine? I have just about every head that can bolt up. I dont want to call the mechanic yet, I still have some questions. if he senses I dont have a plan, then we both end up kinda blah in the end, saying - Its something to think about.
