putting a/c back on my z
the a/c was removed when the carbs were converted to 240z su's on my L26. what should I do to put a/c back on my z? the pully for the a/c belt is still on the car so i know that it once had a/c. Should I get the a/c parts off of a jumkyard car or buy it new? what would be involved in the process?
it gets upward of 95 degrees here while sitting traffic in a black z with a black interior so I want to definitely get a/c. I also want to get my car painted a copper-bronze metalflake color (not orange) (or brown)
thanx

Ac
Unless the AC system was kept in condition and NOT opened, a system from a junk car is a heartache. Contamination in the tubes, oxidation from water entering the system and whatever else will keep you forever fixing the AC.
Two more things to think of: first the old York Compressors were never that great, second, with the cost of R-12 Freon approaching $45.00 a pound its almost too expensive to take a gamble.
I believe there are several kits available, using the newer Freon (R134?)and sell for under $800.00. I think that would be a better investment.
