Thanks to all of you who have graciously contributed your knowledge and experience to this thread. One thing I did not see covered or written anywhere in any of the web articles or books was that on a 70 and 71 the donor mustache bar needs to go behind the rear mount with the update to a R200. I have seen articles where the old R180 is pulled out complete and the donor R200 is slid in complete. This was not the case for me. In fact I needed to remove the rear sway bar to properly fit this along with my rear exhaust system although this is unique to my car with the V8 swap. Also the donor mustache bar needs to have the curl facing forward. This may seem minor or logic to some but I can tell you there will be some that will install it facing the same way as the one removed. It will, of course, not fit by placing the diff to far forward but it is a point worth mentioning to the person doing this for the first time in their garage. All of this comes to you with many hours of fitting and refitting and closing the JTR manual for this part of the swap.

Congratulations on a hard job done in a short time! The picture above shows the correct mounting of the mustache bar for my '70Z, curved just the way you said. As for the rear sway bar they were optional equipment on the 70-71. What did you end up doing about the drive shaft? Now you know first hand about the mixed info. Sometimes you just have to jump in and start swingin.

The driveshaft is not in yet. This rear end swap all started because of a leaking hydraulic throwout bearing. I pulled the T5 to replace it and I thought why not do the rear end while it is on stands. I guess it is called "snowballing" and i need to stop now or I move on rear discs, lowered springs etc. etc. etc. I want to drive this and improve it over time as finances allow not have it on stands for the next year. I'll let you know about the driveshaft when I get there in the next few days.
