Setting ignition timing
Hello,
I recently swapped out my old points system to electrinic ignition and now the timing is off. Not quite sure how I should go about setting this now with the electronic ignition.
Thanks

I am using a Mallory unilite unit. I have my timing set at 8 deg tdc. Set it 5 yrs ago and have not touched it again. Rotate your engine by hand ,find the crank pulley markings and clean them up and mark them with white paint if possible. find the TDC indicator located on the front of the engine bolted to the block right beside the altnr pointing over the crank pulley. You need a timing light, warm the car up to normal running temp, slightly lossen the clamp for the distribr so you can rotate it and slowly rotate it, stop grab timing light and check. Go slow. Go slow. always check your progress using the timing light by shinning it in the TDC indicator as the car is running. 800/900 RPM worked for me As I said Im at 8 deg TDC and am very happy with this. Mods on your car may req more or less. Be sure to retighten the distrb clamp upon completion.
