140 MPH ZX speedo
Looking for a place that regears factory ZX speedos to 140 MPH. Saw it on the net a year ago and now cannot find it. I have an 83 Turbo w/digital dash (GL), don't know if the digital stops at 85, seems someone didn't tighten the crank pulley bolt and now I have a broken crank pulley! Needless to say, haven't gotten the car past 40 yet. Also, has anyone swapped digital for anaolg? Tips and advice welcome

Re: 140 MPH ZX speedo
ill take your digital dash! does it talk? i posted a topic earlier about swapping analog to digital; no one responded.
im hoping the wiring set ups are similar, that being that the wiring harness is the same, and the internals of the dash is the stuff that takes care of the differences of analog and digital. if so, my speedo goes to 140 and id be willing to trade for your digital.
Edited by perfectindustry on 11/11/02 09:31 PM.

Re: 140 MPH ZX speedo
The dashes should swap. I think only one wire cluter difference. But both harnesses should have the same setup. Talking betty doen't come from the dash. She cames from a box under the dash that talks via your factory speaker wires. (Well not throught the wires, but it's best to use them if you've replaced your speakers) So going digital won't give you betty.
I could be wrong.. But don't think so.

Re: 140 MPH ZX speedo
I put a 130 mph speedo in my 1980 280ZX from a 1979 model.
I was reffered to Ft. Lauderdale Speedometer. They did an EXCELLENT job. I wanted to keep my 6 digit odometer, instead of the 5 digit unit on the 1979. I sent them 3 speedos and they sent me back a 130 mph set up just the way I wanted it.
email me if you can't get their phone from information.
