1972 240z

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you guys could offer some advice. I have the opportunity to buy a rust-free 1972 240z. The bottom of the car is kind of dented up from years of jacking and lifting, but the body is in good shape with only a few minor door dings. The engine has 97k original miles. It runs great. It also comes with another 1972 240z that has been wrecked. It will be donating it's gas tank as the original has a hole. It needs front calipers, which this guy has and a front left strut which he also has. This guy owns an import car garage here where I live and has been a Nissan mechanic for over 25 years. The front of the car has a fiberglass front facia that doesn't look too sturdy (or very appealing I might add as it is just flat black without paint). As far as the interior, it will need all new weatherstripping, the dash is cracked horribly, but the rest of the inside looks decent for a 34 year old car. I am in the middle of the restoration of a 1983zx right now and have already spent too much on it. I don't really need to buy this thing given the additional time and money that it will take to finish the `83zx. I just wanted someone elses opinion. He want's $3000 for both cars. Is this a good deal given the limited description I am able to offer?

Thanks in advance.

Colin

I guess I've had to many smokin deals. I would say about $750 for both. Look on ebay to see what you get for $3k, then imagine what it will take in time and money to get it to that level.

true true... I've bought 8 280zx's & a 240z all under $500 a piece... and they were all in good shape too.
