1977 datsun 280z-I NEED HELP!
http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/2427649500.html
hey everyone,
i'm brand new to this forum and needed some help figuring out if this car is the worth the money he is asking; the link is above. the guy wants $1600 but i was hoping to offer him $1200. he has a strong running 280z engine that he got from a different car. he also added a 5-speed tranny from a 2+2, ceramic headers, a performance air filter, new clutch, and a 3" exhaust (that would need to b remounted). the interior is in good shape and is black with the hot leather seats it also has good frame rails, good stock front bumper (that i would probably remove and sell) and good floor pans.
the bad: it has rust/bond all under the door and around the rear fender wells. i would def. need a new rear bumper and some rust work back there. then under the door on the pass side. my dad thinks new doors would be in order. when we looked at it he seemed to think the rockers were in good shape. i think we can do most of the body work cause i'm not looking for a show car but rather something that looks halfway decent and runs good. my 2 best friends are mechanics and know how to do bodywork so that helps, and my grandfather used to restore porsches. the good thing is that it is registered and inspected and runs great!! he took me for a test drive and the thing hauls like a freight train. so if everyone could kinda give me their thoughts itd b geat, thnks.

Welcome to ZDriver!
That would be a good deal for ~$1200, especially since it sounds like you're buying it as a project. The 5 million pound 280z bumpers can go first. Replace them w/ MSA 240z fiberglass ones.
