Re: 2 15" woofers
hmmm the fact that you bought 2 subs fer that little money worries me to begin with, but any way aside from that if you really want to intall these you should get an amp powerful enough to push them and be careful which way you wire these wire the two subs in parallel which means neg to neg and pos to pos and then run the two leads you have into the amp where it is marked as bridged... be wary that these subs might not work well if you got them at such a low price... or they may who knows... as for power daring put a 3/4 or 1 farad cap. on it and that will work fine... I am a professional car stereo installer so you know I am not just some punk telling you what I think I know... if you have any questions feel free to ask

Re: 2 15" woofers
OK a cap Is a Capacitator and they can be found at any decent car stereo shop, if you dont have any car stereo shops then you should probably check circuit city... I work there... and i know for a fact we carry half farad caps... well me did these come in box or not?? if not you do NEED a box and one other question do you have an after market radio yet? if not you will have to install into the rear speaker wires a line level converter to run RCA's to your amplifier... once again any questions email me or post them I will try to keep my eye on this thread

Re: 2 15" woofers
Yes you can put them in your car! However, your thoughts are correct in upgrading you charging system. I 1 FARAT CAP WILL NOT SUFFICE if you are using the factory alt.(50-70 amps)!!!!! 1st of all the person that recommended to bridge the amp is correct. However, at the same time this will put a enormous amount of strain on you charging system. Unless you go with a very expensive or a very low watt amp. The latter will distroy you subs! The cap will give you a quick burst for the 1st bass note, but if you play anything with lots of bass you will be replacing batteries every month. I put a 130 amp alt. on my 71' Z it works great! I think it is a GM. Go to a good alt. shop and just find a alt. the bolt patterns that match up. This way you will have enough juice to power an amp for the highs to keep up with that Bass!!! As for your enclosure. If you are good with Fibre Glass or composite material you can create a full removable enclosure using the volume in the wheel well. Just coat the floor with a heavy wax, or aluminum foil then drop down the fibre glass resien and matting. The fibre glass on stick to the wax! The aluminum foil will become part of you enclosure. Start by doing the math and find the proper volume of air space per driver in the chamber. Create a temp plate and the side structure. Then connect the fibre from the floor to the structure and temp plate. Will take 3 to4 days to dry and to add extra layers. Then remove the entire enclosure and carpet it's bottom, "to prevent vibration". If this seems a little over welming take it to a shop that specializes in this and they can do it for you. Remember, if you are going to do it, do it right! There is no cheap or fast way, and you will end up spending more in the long run trying too! Good Luck!

Re: 2 15" woofers
no this didn't come in a box but im building one for one of these speakers, and yes I have an aftermarket stereo pioneer4300deph, with the rca jacks on the back of it.. as for the other question about the alt. (the person above this post was refering to) my alt. comes from an 88 nissan hardbody pickup. And REALLY not that strong to hold an amp.. however the cap. sounds like a good idea but if I can find a better alt I'll go that route if the cap doesn't work or is the same price. thank you guys for all the helpful advise keep them coming as I will still need your help.

Um... What size amp are you planning on using?? i mean.. i have a 500 watt amp, Bridged, in my car, pushing a 12" and i have never had to replace the battery. Been operating fine for 2 years. Im somewhat confused on why u need all this extra gear. <shrug> Honnestly i doubt u have anything to wory about unless your planning some extrodanary Wattage, which would most likely be overkill.

Hmmm, Watt type of amp do you have? Is it 250wX2 RMS? Or is it a 100w amp that is max bridgable down to 500w. Also what drivers are you using? Are they power hungry paper coned Rockford 15" subs? I also noticed you have a newer car than his. What is your factory size of your amp? I suppose you are right he can try it with out making any upgrades. However, I thought I would save him some time. I have owned a 12 volt Mobile Electronics Business for the last 10 years and have seen plenty of problems very simliar to this! In the long run this seemed to be the cheapest way to go about it with the least amount of headaces. Good Luck!

Re: 2 15" woofers
i run a 640 watt amp and if you wire the remote power cord to the power antenna wire, so that it only is fed power when the cd player is on, it shouldnt be a problem. i think your fine how you are.
