260z received net hp rating, while 240z received gross hp rating.

gross = true engine at crank power, no accessories, smog, pulleys, etc. net = all accessories attached, along w/ exhaust

Gross hp for the engines:
L24 - 151hp
L26 - 160hp
L28 - 170hp
L28 (2) - 181hp

The 2.6 had the worst of the fuel systems with heavily smogged carbs. From 1975 on fuel injection was used. In 1981 the L28 changed to flat top pistons and a new head design which raised the compression slightly and gave a small increase in horsepower and torque. The turbo L28 had about 180 net horsepower. Which is maybe 215 gross.

The 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z did share the same body. The bumper design and front and rear lights changed slightly for different years.
