hello everyone,
i have a 260z, that doesnt have air conditioning, and i want to add it!!!
ive seen all the kits in vic. brit. and auto motorsports but, they all cost too much!!
i want to know, what do you actually need apart from a condenser, evaporator, compressor and a dryer?
im really confused as to why i cant just throw air con from a ford (for example) into it, if anyone has any ideas on alternate parts to use (cheaper) just tell me!!

i also heard about needing something to adjust engine idle speeds?

any and all info would be REALLY appreciated!!

i have a non airconditioned 2+2 model and it just has the setup of an airconditioned 2+2 put in it .. and i have the a/c hooked up to a switch

ooh info!!! thanks for the reply, but, could you explain to me in a bit more detail what you mean?
so, if i had the coupe, has it already got all the parts for air con in it (panels) all i need to do is add the hardware behind the panels?

yeah pretty much hey ... and i havent looked for a while but i just have a switch to turn the clutch on .. no thermostat control ... and i just set the idle where its ok with it on and off

I installed AC in my 260 74' from a 260 2+2 whilst I had the dash out. Everything bolted on nicely but I had to add the new panel with all the heater/air etc controls to replace the old one seeind it did'nt have the AC switch. I have'nt gassed it up yet or connected power to it but is there anyting to watch out for in particular loki? Summer is on it's way and i'm thinking of just taking it to an auto elec to connect the right wires in place.

 

yeah i had mine gassed but cause some of the hoses where perrished and cracked it leaked out in month but i did work for a while !
