These are the best I've found. The Tokicos are shorter and can "bang " when you go over a big bump, makes a pretty car sound like a pos.

Hey folks. Been a while but I'm still working on the Z. In the Fall I purchased and installed the Vogtland lowering springs. How nice it is to install springs without having to compress them.

At the same time, the '90s called and asked for their wheels back. Got a set of Koenig Rewinds to replace them.

Here is what the car looks like now ...

 

Hate to tell you I told you so but-
Absolutely stunning now Scott! Ready for the rear disc brakes yet? They would look great peeking through the wheels. By the way, stop driving it in the damn dirt

You're so bad Tom. Rear discs ... I'll put them on the list. You'll notice I only painted the calipers although I did polish up the rear drums.

If you're looking at the dust on the tires, sometimes around here you just can't help it. Our local Z club had an outing in December. As part of the drive we stopped along a scenic road where a restaurant had gone out of business. The parking lot was a perfect spot for our club's photographer to get some nice shots with Saguaro National Park as a backdrop. Unfortunately part of the lot was dirt. Certainly not going fast. Come to think of it, my own driveway is dirt too ...

 

The drums look really nice. What list?

 

Us retired guys make lists of things to do. Off the top of my head for the Z is:

1) Sell early 260Z seats, front grill and 90's wheels among other things. Need cash for the rest of the list!
2) Get the A/C fixed (all the refrigerant leaked out) before it gets really hot and the A/C shop is too busy.
3) Figure out what's wrong with the rear hatch lock and make it better. You may recall the wing required a relocation of the lock mechanism. That required welding a push rod to the release on the latch and adding a spring to keep the release rod from opening the hatch due to its own weight. It's not operating right now and I have to wriggle into the back and open things up in that tight space. Not good when age is stealing your flexibility...
4) Go through engine bay like Skully did and really tidy things up.
5) Find leak in windshield cleaner reservoir and fix or replace.
6) And now ... rear disc brakes!

 

Very nice combo for the wheels! Looks really good.

 

Maybe you could fab up some support rods to keep the dam from shaking at speed.

 

It does have two already but more couldn't hurt. I'll look at that. Thanks!
