280z mods and such...?
a couple things....(the car is a 1978 280z)
01)how can you get blue looking face plates for all the dash lights (speedometor and such) ... to shine blue instead of green... i am talking illuminated blue
02)i have a break problem, sometimes when i make "panic" stops my e-break light comes on, and i was wondering what it was from
03) what are the largest size tires that i can put on it stock without mod'ing any of the flairs or anything. i was thinking low profile tires...
and help would be appreciated

Purchase white face overlays for your car. They are available sometimes on eBay or look in a search on the internet.
Remove all your gauges. Buy some smoked polyurethane sheets at a craft supply store. Cut out circles to match each of your five gauges. Place the overlays onto the smoked plastic. Install those guage faces onto your Z's gauges. Get some bright blue bulbs in all your dash lights. That will give you the indiglo look you want. The plastic will glow all over and shine through the overlay decals.
2) Do you think your brake fluid is low? Maybe when you press really hard, the brake fluid is going out of your resivour more and a sensor tells you that it is low by lighting up the "Brake" light which means to check your brakes (or your parking brake)
3) The largest width is 225. So if you run 17 inch wheels, you'll need 225/40 - 17 tires

:-) Well, I have not done it. I read about how someone planned on doing this mod on their Z. It seems like a foolproof idea.
I don't think anyone has pics. I know there are some cars on this board that have white face gauges. That is what it will look like during the day.

I think he means that "stock" is factory fenders. No flares.
So 225 woun't quite rub. He also said he wants low profile tires so I guessed 17 inch rims. If you lower your car too much, you may need to fold the inner lip of the fender, but you still don't need flares with a 225. I've got 215 width on my car front and back. Stock height and only 15 inch wheels.

No, you can change out the little plastic cog on the side of your transmission. It is located right where your speedometer cable enters. If you have a 3.54 rear end, get one from a 240Z and tell the Nissan dealership you need the one for a 3.3:1 rear end.
The tire size I gave you will run your speedometer at proper speeds with 17 inch wheels. Also, that web page I sent will tell you other proper tire sizes for 16 inch or 18 inch. Whatever you want. I entered the "stock" tire size at 195/70-14
As long as you are within 1% of stock, you won't really see any different in driving speeds. I choose to go 1% smaller diameter than stock rather than 1% larger. :-) that give you an extra 0.4 pounds of torque! hehe... if you can get it right on, then all the better.
