stroker
i saw youre from NJ. were you at the meet on Sunday in Morristown?
im in the process of rebuilding my L28ET and going for a stroker.
actually a group of us from the NJ club are going on a group deal for Ross forged pistons and we're using this shop called Modern Performance in south jersey near Eatontown off Rt 36.
the best part about the stroker is the flat torque curve. however since im going turbo im not leaning towards the 3.1 liter as thats a .120 overbore which is large. im going for a very conservative .020 instead.
the cost is fairly expensive. lets figure youre doing a regular rebuild but in addition.....
stroker crank - $300 going rate with shipping
240z rods - $100 + 500 (race prep)
lightweight fly wheel? - $380
and custom BHJ damper - ???
CP pistons w/ rings - $800?
ARP bolts
as my engine is going to put out over 400hp these items are necessary but i went with custom Pauter Rods - $1000
sure you could just get the crank and 240z rods if youre going Non-Turbo as im sure its alot cheaper. you wont need forged pistons for an NA engine. so the cost would be another $1000 to do a stroker but since im going turbo my bottom end alone will cost me around $3000 just in parts

Motro sport auto has a kit for $1800 to turn a 280z motor into the 3.1 stroker. Comes with crank rods pistons rings and the pins to hold the piston to the rod. The only bad thind about it is i have to find a 280 z motor to do it.
Thanks for your help Hope to see you at the nex z car club meat.
