I posted on the ZCAR forum as well. I would like your opinion.
I have the opportunity to purchase a 1971 240z with 30,000 miles. I have some history on the car but more importantly this is what I saw tonight. Original gold paint in good condition, 3 blemishes I would say 8.5 out of 10. Interior, original dash no cracks, interior looks nearly new 9.5 out of ten. Undercarriage is mint, original factory undercoating mostly intact, zero rust. I removed the carpets, poked behind the sills, under the battery, rear hatch ect. This would be my fourth z car.
The guy that found it put all new wear items, tires, exhaust, battery, new 4 slot rims, brakes, lines, calipers, a/c compressor, hoses ect. Car runs well, original auto swapped for 4 speed, everything else is as the dealer installed. All books and manuals intact.
The $15,000 question, is it worth $15,000? I know this is a subjective question but I respect your honest opinions.
Thanks

In my opinion, no. If it had the automatic and the numbers match the block to the body tag it might be worth 12k. Also depends on the area. These cars are going up almost daily since the American muscle is out of reach for most of us.
