I am wondering what kinda compression I have with an E88 head on an L28 with dished pistons,,,I know I have to run super unleaded and back off the timing unless I am running octane booster.

you might want to play with a Lengine program you can find your compresion ratio, and determine which octane you'll most likely need. I'm not too sure about finding out what octane you need, but the higher the compression ratio the higher the octane needs to be like 10:1 compression ratio 92 octane would be good

If your head is an Early E-88 and neither the block or haed has been shaved then you are looking at about 8.56:1....
