Re: crossflow heads on a 280??
Where are you? In adelaide, i've been to Adelaide Z cars looking for electronic distributor for my 240, they have a few 280zx's, i don't know about heads. It seems as soon as they get something decent they sell it... you could try them. Also in adelaide Japanese motorsport imporst fuel injected L28's (i think) you could try them. Iwould look in the yellow pages and just ring around wreckers, you never know your luck.....
SSS automotive in NSW import L28 injected, so they might be able to help or or try www.ichiban.com.au- they import lots of nissan engines, they might be able to help. I hope this helps you

Re: crossflow heads on a 280??
Cross flow heads were made for the S20 engine which has 24 valve per cylinder and one of the tuning houses in Japan made a cross flow head kit in the seventies which was very expensive and I have only ever seen a line drawing of one - rare as hens teeth.
If you want a cross flow head then you could always repower the car with a RB25DE...........
TWM throttle bodies with nice headers on the other side - hmmmm nice.
Cheers

Yeah-the head is an extreme rarety that was bolted on the 2 Liter inline 6 engine on a series of fairlady z's in Japan. It was dicontinued because of bad problems with cam vibration due to design. About a month ago I talked with a man that had one and wanted a little over 2 grand for it. I think the money would be better spent otherwise.

Re: crossflow heads on a 280??
So whats the deal with swapping in a RB series motor?? Im in America so i can already see how much it would cost! But i hear they have nearly identical motor mounts and should be pretty straight forward with the installation. What kind of tranny could you use with it?? Anybody ever thought of seeing how hard it would be to swap in chevys new inline 6??
