dash switch?
hello
i have a really good opportunity to buy a 240z, nice cond. but i was looking for a 260z, mainly in hope of putting air con and the interior was just... nicer
so i was wondering, can i switch the dash and interior from a 260z into a 240z?
thanks
adam.

Re: dash switch?
if air con is all your after, I remember seeing a a/c unit when I was browsing thru www.ozdat.com last week. It would be an awful shame to give up a 240Z, just for that reason.

Re: WTF?
It was a factory option - a lot of LHD cars had A/C.
But it was CRAP - Yorke compressor, barely able to cool a can of coke, let alone a glasshouse like a Z....
I've thought of putting a condenser/fan assembly in the luggage compartment in order to allow the use of a large capacity unit that can get the hot air from the back of the car.. You could then duct it to wherever you like... Just a thought.
Not the my Z will ever have A/C - there's barely enough room for the 2 turbo's let alone a compressor!

Re: WTF?
The 260Z's used a Sanden rotary compressor (much more efficient & less power-hungry) and the 2+2 has better ventilation anyway. These would both help your situation (but a dodgy fan & leaky hoses wont ).
