Electric probs
I have two electric problems right now. The first being less of a real difficulty is the reverse lights. They do not come on. The second is a bit more complex. the turn signals work but when I turn on the headlights and or the parking lights the turn signals no longer work. Also when I turn the blower on for the heater/ac then the turn signals blink incredibly slowly. The first I think may be just a bad switch and I have found the location of the switch in my haynes manual but the second is a bit more baffling to me. Tomorrow I just plan on shorting the reverse switch to see if it is just a bad switch that needs to be replaced or not. But if anyone has anymore insight on the second problem for me it would be much appreciated. (yeah yeah I know I need to get a factory service manual cuz haynes is [censored]) -Kyle

Re: Electric probs
Ha ha you got censored.
I've found the Haynes ok for electrical stuff. Sounds pretty weird your 2nd prob! If the blinker speed is changing it might have something to do with the wiring of the little box that does the relay for blinking. Check out the wiring around that I reckon. I've never been there tho'

Re: Electric probs
I just had a thought...you know how when your blinker light blows how the other one goes really fast? well, if it's going slower maybe there's more resistance there...ie it might be the grounding of the circuit that's the problem. anyway..best of luck.

had the same problem with my reverse lights on my 86z, i found out with the help of a tester that the ground wire wasnt grounding, so i just grounded it to a bolt right below the fixture. Now I don't know if this is safe, or that I should even be advising this, but now I have reverse lights.

Ok, might wanta scratch that whole thing about wiring the ground to the body.....I found out that hey, yeah I put it in reverse, I have reverse lights, life is perfect......but lo and behold when I took it out of reverse, the reverse lights didnt seem to care and just stayed as bright as the north star....so back to the drawing board.
