fuel and ignition tips?

fuel and ignition tips?
I have a stock 2.4L and would like to improve the fuel delivery and ignition systems. I ultimately plan on a 2.8L swap.
1) Can anyone recommend the use of the Unilite ignition upgrade, or are there cheaper alternatives?
2) What is a good fuel pump to use? I only have the mechanical pump now and it seems inadequate.
Thanks in advance.

Re: fuel and ignition tips?
The least expensive ignition upgrade is to get a distributor out of a 280ZX from the local wrecking yard. Look for a distributor that has the "matchbox" style ignition box mounted to the side of the distributor. There are two types of these, one has two wires and the other has four. The two-wire ignitor is better. (The four wire box apparently retards timing with increasing RPM.) As for the fuel pump, I am currently running the stock mechanical fuel pump in my 240Z with L28 and triple webers and have had no problems, so for your application it will be more than adequate.

Re: fuel and ignition tips?
the fuel pump I am using on my 240Z w/ L28 and SUs is GREAT, I love it! I works the same way as the stock 280Z pump, is about the same size, and adjusts to how much pressure you need, just as the mechanical pump would. I got it at my local carquest, paid about $60. I guess ask for the universal pump, 5-9 psi. thats what i got.
