Re: fuel injection for a 72 z
Yes it can be done and no it is not that difficult. Hardest part is finding a good donor car for the injection system. Check out my web site...got some good picks of the install on my old Z. I am deployed right now, but will be able to answer more in depth questions in a few days.

Re: fuel injection for a 72 z
You can go with a 2.8L engine and the fuel injection for that size engine if you wish as Russell did. Or if you wish to keep a 2.4L engine get the fuel injection harness and computer from a Datsun/Nissan 810/Maxima from 1977-1984
Those family sedans run a 2.4L straight six with point fuel injection. As far as a Z goes, go with 1975or 76 fuel injection. They have the least emissions and very simple wiring harnesses compared to later models. ...and no oxygen sensor to deal with. (non California models)
