help with my 260z
Ok, im a youngin (16), and well my dad has this ole 74' 260z garaged for the passed 3 years for me till i got my license. Well currently we are trying to get it fixed, something went wrong with the carburators acording to this mechanic friend of my dad. He overhauled 1 of the carburators but 1 part of it has a malfunction. I think he said it was the diaphram or whatever, well since neither my dad or myself know much about these cars, what are my options in this current situation. Is there a way to fix that part, or will i have to buy a whole new carburator, or is that even possible. Well hope i get a reply, thanks in advance.

Re: help with my 260z
i think you should change out your carbs for earlier ones. from what i hear, the carbs used in the 260 were of bad design. i think they were hitachis.
hence this is why they only made the 260 for a year and then went to fuel injection.

Re: help with my 260z
If they are flat tops, they are original 260Z carbs, if tops are rounded, they are earlier SU carbs, which are more desirable.
Take a look at the engine pic of my 260Z, I have rounded top carbs. eBay would be a good source for looking for earlier Z carbs, if you want absolute best and $ is no object, check out www.ztherapy.com
