Here we go again. Bigger wheels.
I know this topic has been discussed before but I kinda want to be sure before I dump some cash into this. I would like to put a set of 17 inch wheels on my ol 280z but the adaptor idea makes me squimish. I am going to run some coilovers to get the right fender gap and all but isn't there any good looking wheels that will bolt up instead of those Motorsport Auto offers? Anyway any input will be helpful.

Check out centerlinewheels.com. Check out the wheel deal section. I just bought a set of 16X8s with the offset I wanted and the right bolt pattern. They also have 17s with the right bolt pattern. Got my set for only $410 including shipping and they are nice looking wheels.

I went with the 16X8 Zeniths at the link that Mudge just posted. There is a pic of them there. Hopefully i'll have a pic of them soon after I get them mounted on the car still waiting on my wheel studs to get here...doh.

guess they are out of those on the special....doh! I looked and didn't see them on there anymore either. they are an 8 spoke wheel with the spokes being an X...so you might say 16 spoke wheel. they should look nice. it does look like they have the spitfire left in the correct bolt pattern if you like that style in a 16. I got my wheels with 4" of backspacing. Depending on your application you might want more backspacing then that. I have no coil overs and big flares in the rear and in the front soon(i hope ) so thats why I went with less backspacing. Give them centerline a call if you're curious...they seem to be really helpful. Good luck.

I called and they said I would have to go through a dealer? is that what you did? they did say I can get any of the billit wheels in the correct bolt pattern.. So.. Did you call them directly or did you just order them from a retailer? Thanks again.

wow, a lot must have changed in a month. i called their internet sales line...didn't see it listed on the current page. Did you tell them that you were interested in the "wheel deals" or just the Zeniths? I ordered directly from them through the internet sales dept. Puzzling....

hmm.. wierd. well when you have some pics of the zeniths. Let me know. I would like to see what they look like. I liked some of the rims on there.. Wish they had a littlebit duller metal with the billit rims. .. Thanks.

Try here as well!
Compomotive USA will make wheels for ya also. ROH, Will do them to.
It is not easy to find rims with the correct offset. I never did find anything really great. when you custom order them though, you get exactly what you want. BTW compomotive's web site has some good explanations on wheel dimensions and terminology.

This is where I got mine.
and for the adapters if you want to go that route, Ross Corrigan (lives in British Columbia Canada) makes them.. do a search on his name. He also hangs out at hybridz.org.
