madzracer, don't be so arrogant the original question was how much power from an L28. They wanted to know how much power was possible without turboing. This I can undertstand as insurance companies etc.. freak when they hear the word turbo.
As stated above some classes for racing don't allow the use of a turbo charger or if you do use one you qualify for a different kind of class.
It's interesting that when I started asking questions I was young and didn't understand alot I'm now a bit wiser but still rely on others for help. Rather than telling people not to waste our time be patient and helpful afterall the people on this forum all share a common interest and information should be shared and knowledge passed on.
It can be hard sometimes when u get the same questions over but please understand this is normal on any forum.

I'm real amazed at some of these "kids" getting on here and displaying their utter ignorance through their disrespect for others and their complete misuse of the English language. I was never hating on the turbo motor you idiot-like 240z said, we were having a nice discussion on power possible from an L28 and I was putting that in picture with the rules and regulations of SCCA roadracing.

 

Since we're discussing how to get power out of the L28, what are some good ways to lessen loss of horsepower for a larger amount at the wheels? Currently I'm losing a little over 35.

 

You may consider a lightened flywheel, possibly a higher numerical (shorter) gear end, custom lightened (even carbon fibre) driveshaft, and even a lighter wheel/tire combo...
