How much is this Z worth?

I about went into cardiac arrest when I saw an actual Z for sale within 100 miles of me that wasn't a total rust bucket. Found this one on Ebay and made several bids but the reserve wasn't met by anyone. The guy gave me a second chance offer at the listed price.

Now the last thing I need is another Z.....but man would it be nice to have a nice, clean S30 thats doesn't need any work done just to cruise around in.

What do y'all think? Is the price reasonable?

My high bid was $6,100. Any particular reason why you don't think its worth more than 6K??

Its a 280Z. Not as collectable as a 240Z
Bumper rubber is cracked, dash is cracked, interrior looks good but not exceptional. Pictures aren't big enough to tell.
Certainly a repaint. engine compartment is just black... could be rattle-can. I bet that milage is actually 169k or easily 269k with some bodywork and paint.

Maybe I'm also judging by Northwest prices. I can drive home a straight and clean 240Z for two grand. Nicely painted for three.

Thanks everyone for their valuable input. I've decided not to buy another Z at this point and concentrate on the 240Z (and some carbon fiber bits for the Duc!).

But if a Z comes up for sale here in town....well, thats a different story.

This looks like a nice original Z....no potentially bogus paint jobs and also not thru a dealer like the yellow one. Plus i have the cash available...no loan needed. I shot him an email re: rust, tires, shipping costs, etc. If things go well, I'm gonna offer $1800 plus a Fender Stratocaster (or $2250 cash). We'll see...

(those hubcaps have gotta go....)

That's more like it! Get some nice wheels/tires, lose the bumpers and you got a real nice dd.

I was thinking the same thing. New wheels and a body kit and you're set. He hasn't responded to my email though, wonder if its been sold...

Well, he never responded to my email so i called his cell and it had been discontinued. Looks like he might have already moved to CO...which means the Z has probably been sold.

edit: I just called his home phone and talked to his brother. he said there is some surface rust around the wheel well and behind the bumper...and also some under one of the floor mats....so I'm not sure what I'm doing at this point.
