Jap Engine in 240Z
Hi... wondering how possible/complicated dropping a Jap engine into my 240Z would be - I am looking at an RB25DET... besides the major cost of engine, tranny, and ecu, what else is involved? Roughly how long would this take swap? Obviously this is dependent on lots of things, I'm just looking for a ballpark.... thanks.

Re: Jap Engine in 240Z
well my dear enthusiast, the first complication would be that you would have to import the engine in from japan (if you want a quality engine w/o any damage from accidents, or rough driving). next step would be to consider the expense of trying to fix an engine that doesnt have a distributer in the states (if not in the states, then dont worry about the parts). but other then that, all yu would really need is some different motor mounts and a new exhaust setup, plus, if your car is left hand or right hand drive; that plays a key factor in determining new engine. easiest high power, torque monster engine swap would be to get a supra engine or maybe even a z32 series engine. preferably supra (less hassle when it comes to tranny and replacement parts)
peace out

How about a U.S. VG30DE? I can get one for relatively cheap from a friend.... how complicated would that swap be? Won't have the turbos to deal with, and I can probably get at least 250hp out of it, at the crank - what do you think? Any help would be great!! Cheers!!
