87.5-88 turbo 300zx came with LSD r200 units. You can also get a quaife(1000 bucks) or a cheapie phantom grip (350, no quaife, but better than a pegleg). Nismo also sells limited slip units for about 900-1000 bucks. Motorsport Auto sells an LSD unit to put into an r180-200 for 700

There is a possible GP attempt in the works, if enough are interested, for about $500 for a clutch type LSD. Brand spanking new, you wont find a better deal!
I found this GP attempt on HybridZ, you can contact the organizer by email forcefedindustries@rrohio.com to ask about this Nismo LSD GP...

I will have to find info on the meet, I can't even remember when it is, the 19th? I am aware of the Sacto drag attempt though, I think I may go just to spactate if I dont run, but we'll see

you can use the 300 turbo rear
lsd unit but it requires some modification to work and they usually come at a price of 400+ for a used unit..
quaife makes a geared lsd for the Z in the R180 unit for about 795 dollars. it also have a great gaurentee

I'm going Quaife myself, as much as a new clutch pack unit for $500 sounds sooooooo tempting, and I bet you could resell it later and not take much of a loss, I figure this is one area where I want the best and longest lasting unit possible, for my R200. Its pretty darn pricey for the initial buy in, but after that, I'll swap fluid and dont expect any other maintenance or issues, and it has a better bias ratio

LSD for 240z
How cheap do you want to go? You can go to your local junk yard and get a R180 out of a Subaru 4x4. Same manufacturer, same size, no mods necessary. They are limited slip in the Subarus and should work fine unless you plan on running big horses. You will have to verify the year. If I remember, most from the late 70's and early 80's 4x4 work.
