Smoke; are the carb pistons free?
if they are round tops there will be a little metal rod that stick down at the bottom of the carb left front corner press it up gently
and make sure it moves the piston up, also make sure you have damping oil in the reservoir on top 20 wt or ATF
if they are flat tops gently ease a thin screwdriver in the throat
and free it up (you may want to unscrew the dipstick on the carbs before trying this it removes the oil resistance)
