mustache bar bushings
Close to doing the R200 swap on my 240z and I need to replace the mustache bar bushings. I found the ones from MSA, Victoria British, Arizonia Z and DaveTurner.com. My question is, "Are they all alike?" And what's the difference between Teflon and Urethane, as far as performance and ride is concerned? I want a high performance street machine, not an SCCA race car. Can anyone give me some pointers?
Thanks in advance.

Re: mustache bar bushings
Teflon bushings do not flex and will transmit more vibration and noise into the interior of your car. Urethane bushings do flex a little (still quite a bit less than the stock rubber) but will not transmit as much vibration through the car.Sorry, I haven't compared the quality of the urethane bushings from different manufacturers.

Re: mustache bar bushings
I wouldn't use teflon for those if I were designing it, thats for sure. It doesn't make sense to use teflon if you ask me... I would go with the urethane.
The reason I discount teflon is because is it fairly brittle, and there is no need to use the great thermal properties, nor the lubrication properties that teflon has in this situation. It is also fairly hard, and would transmit vibration as stated earlier.

Re: mustache bar bushings
Thanks to all for the tips. I went for the polyurethane bushings from Energy Suspensions. Got the set from www.daveturner.com at a great price. The set I bought required one to press out all of the old bushings. Directions came with the parts...easy. Now I just have to put it all together.
