Is my 260Z dead or is there still hope?
Hi, I have a 260Z that I really want to restore but the poor baby is in not the best condition. It has been sitting in a garage for around 6 or 7 years but has always been started up every year but its never driven. A few days ago, I went out to look it over and I looked underneith by the drivers door and the frame underneith the car has rusted really badly. The emergency brake has also ceased and the body has rusted in spots but the engine is in really good condition. I've been told if I get a new frame (I really hoping I'm using the right word, but it might be the suspension I'm talking about) that it would be a huge job and I would be insane to even consider trying to have it fixed because it would cost a small fortune. Well, I love that car way to much and I am willing to do what it takes to have it running again. What I want to know is can it be fixed? Would anyone be able to give me an estimate of how much it'll cost to fix the frame (if you can, please tell me in what currency you're using, I'm using Canadian currency)? Or if you really think I'm getting in too deep with this car, you can tell me that too. Thank you so much! If you wanna contact me, feel free! all_hail_princess_kira@hotmail.com

got any pics of it?? You might be able to get away with cutting out the really rusted out parts, and replace them with sheet metal, or frame rails (they sell them in motorsport auto) As for the frame itself, the car is a unibody which means its basically a stamped together car. But if you have rust on the parts of the car that determines the overall rigidity of the car, you might be better off buying a new body and throwing everything into that one. But dunno.. only pictures can tell.
