my Z won't start!!!
alright...here's the situation...please offer any advice you can. I was stopped at a red light, and when I tried to go once it turned green, my car stop (just like it does when it stalls, it just kinda...dies). I was able to get my car restarted after a couple tries. So I proceed to move ahead...car dies again after about 20ft. But this time it won't start back up. I managed to get my dad to trailer it back home, but I have no clue what could be wrong with it. It has gas. It has power on the positive side of the coil, but doesn't get spark at the coil wire (I tested it by seeing if it would arch onto a grounded metal bolt). So, I replaced the coil...still doesn't start. Like I said, ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated...my Z is dead!

Yay!
BTW, if you would of said what year your car was in the first post then nobody would of suggested to check your points. A turbo Z does not use a points distributor, so don't worry about that. You could check your valve clearance on your hydralic lifters though...

Yeah year and model would have helped hehe. Now I feel stupid.
Could be air flow meter???? Does the ZX have a Crank Angle Sensor in the Distributor??
My friend had an RB30 and the crank angle sensor went bad and caused all kinds of problems was easy to fix just a bit expensive for the part.

Re: my Z won't start!!!
here's the situation now...the person i bought the car from didn't havet the battery grounded to the chassis...just to the starter...i grounded the battery to the chassis and everything seems to be fine...*knock on wood*...could that have been my problem...cause i know if you don't ground it to the chassis, it'll just ground through other electrical components...ignition?
