New 260Z, electrical problems. help please
Goodevening ZDrivers,
My name is Ricki and i am new to the z world. I have a 260z that is in driving shape however has some tech problems. First, the turning signals dont work, the windsheild wipers dont work, and unknown wires are hanging from under the dash. Is there any solution to these problems? other than that the interior needs to be restored. the engine runs nice. any assistance is greatly appreaciated.
Very respectfully,
Ricki

Welcome to Zdriver Ricki! First thing to do is go to http://xenons30.com/reference.html and download the factory service manual. Get a multi tester and start checking the wires and switches. The problems are likely in the switches in the steering column. Good luck with all that!

most z cars have that problem. Clean the connectors at the turn signals, and the big white plugs at the passengers left foot, remove hazard switch and disassemble then use 1200 or 1500 sandpaper on the contacts inside, clean that plug and where it connects under the center console. get All new bulbs, clean sockets. The wiper motor is shot. Can be rebuilt, or modify the bracket and plug to use 280zx motor. Wires under dash, no clue.

Thanks alot i really appreciate the responses. I have another problem aswell. My gas pedal keeps sticking. When i attempt to roll at slow speeds its nearly impossible because the pedal wont move unless i stomp on it. I checked the spring under the pedal wich seemed fine, and i noticed that the cable to the Carb has a bit of slack. When i move the cable around i can usually find a position that loosens it up, but a few bumps down the road its back caught. what should i do? can i put some lubercant on the cable? or buy a new set?
