new clutch and suspension
i am looking at some performance clutches, but i dont know what to get. i burnt mine out and i needa get a new one any suggestions?i dont want to spend a lot but i want something better than the 3 in 1 clutch.
i am also looking at tokico struts and tokico springs. i am looking at the springs that drop the car about 1" but i dont know whether to offset the suspension from like a 1" in the front to a 1/2" in the rear. i dont know. i am looking to spend about $700 for all the suspension parts. if anyone has any suggestions please help.
i have a 1978 280z

Re: new clutch and suspension
There are two types of clutch's that people usually get for their Z out there.
-First there is the OEM one, most people use OEM 280ZX 2+2 because it has a stronger grip. The price is decent and its OEM!
-Second, most people like centerforce for more performance the favorite tends to be the centerforce dual friction, but it isn't cheap.
I'm kinda confused when you say you want to lower it in the front and rear 1/2? Pretty much the tokico is 1" all the way around. They say 1" but I believe the car is actually lowered about 3/4 of a inch or .75 instead of an actual inch. Am I wrong anyone? please let me know.
Anyways if you need pricing on this we have some very competitive price at www.strictlyz.com just drop me a e-mail at Service@StrictlyZ.com and we'll help ya out!

Re: new clutch and suspension
If your going to spend $700 on suspension go to www.ground-control.com and get coil overs with tokico strurts for $649 the whole kit then you can dial in any hight you want. Plus you get good struts. Spend $849 and you get the 5-way adjustables for even more versatilaty. You even get to choose your own spring rate up to 500lbs I think it is. 325lbs in the rear and 250lbs in the front, I had the extra lbs in rear to support the sub box I was haulin around. That creates one hell of a stiff ride I might add. Thats what I had on my 260 Z8, wow is all I can say get good padding.
What turns? They all seam straight to my Z!
P.S. get the dual fric for the extra money. It's worth it and in the long run will last a longer period of time than a stock or 2+2, even if you are hard on it.
