Is this the original head for my car?
I have a 1971 240Z with the L24 engine(I think). The engine has an N32 head on it. Is this the right head? From reading here in the forum, it doesn't sound like it. The car was built in December of 1971. I just bought the car for $500 and the engine probably needs rebuilding. I've found several L28's from late '70's 280Z's. Will this head work on them if it's any good? Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Re: Is this the original head for my car?
A US/Aus 240Z should have either the E31 (early) or E88 head on it. All 6-cyl heads will work, but the N47 (for example) can come with round exhaust ports, the majority of the other heads (E31/88, N42, P79/90/90A/99) are square.
If you are concerned about the prospect of partially rebuilding the engine, you could always install the complete L28 into your car, with your carburettors etc. & keep the L24 (if it is the original block) in storage.

It would also be a 1972 model. My 72 had a build date of 10/71 which was the second month of production of 1972 models. My L24 has an E88 head and E88 intake manifold.
