Paint for the 240Z

Went into the shop a few days ago to check the progress and the car was mostly painted. They still needed to paint the doors, hood, & hatch and reassemble the car. The last I heard she should be ready early next week.

Here are some pics:

The car looks kinda orangish in the pics but is actually an old Datsun color- 905 Red.

She's getting new rims also:

Hey, looks great! I kind of like the flat black engine bay, too.
Hard to tell from the photos, is it more of a red, or more of an orange? It'll look great with those wheels, in any case. Hope you get to try it out before all the winter weather hits.
cheers,
Dave

Thats exactly what I'm afraid of, I'll get the car back and there will be a foot of snow. I guess northern Indiana has already got a bunch.

Yeah the car is supposed to be red, but the Datsun red always had alot of orange in it. The pics I've seen of Zs in this color has always have more red in them. It'll be interesting to see how it looks in the natural light instead of under those lights in the shop. Either way, I'm cool with it though.....

ooooo purdy. and i was JUST about to say the car needs some new shoes to compliment the new paint. but looks like you got that covered as well. haha. oh man now the front fascia will be painted get those CF bumpers on there and damn! i was going to do the same thing a nice red with the xenon front CF bumpers black fender mirrors CF bre spoiler and CF ZG flares would be a kick @$$ color scheme setup. and with the same wheels you got lined up, only, slightly larger diameter looks like you got alot of tire on those puppies. what are they? 15's? 14's?

Yeah I've been procrastinating on getting those cf bumpers put on. Lord knows I'll have alot of free time in the Winter to do it. The rims are 15". Yeah a cf front spoiler and flares would look nice! Hmmmm

lol know the model you got in your living room of the 240z? use that as an idea creator where its red and has alot of black accessories like the ZG's the hood, fender mirrors, etc. sept add a bit of personal taste to it.

^^^Yeah I've actually thought about that. I think it'll be close to that shade of red once in the natural light. I think the model has some Konig rewind type rims too, except they're not graphite.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I'm supposed to get the car back early next week. But then again they originally said it was only going to take two weeks and its been over five weeks, so who knows? I'll post pics though as soon as I get her back and get the wheels put on.

it's amazing how good those wheels look on anything. all the brit cars liked them, the z's like them, they are just awesome. good choice. very good color too. now you need some fender flares and it will be one of those super sweet s30's that everyone drools over!

Thanks folks!

Well I got the car back today and put the new wheels on, but I couldn't get the center caps on to the front wheels because the disc brake hub thingy sticks out too far. This is a small thing but aggravating! Anyone else ever have this problem or any advise on how to deal with it?

Well got he car back yesterday and the wheels put on last night. They did an awesome job, only bad thing is for some reason they didn't paint the front air dam so I'll have to take that in to have it done. Otherwise, I'm a very satisfied customer!

Some pics:

Thanks! Well I paid $2300 for the car originally.....and lets just say I've spent probably three times that since then. And more to come!
